Chung Hua University college of Tourism is planned and established by Su Chengtian who is the former director of the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Communications in Taiwan, in order to cultivate middle-level and high-level management talents in tourism-related industries.  The College also is the only college planned by former director of the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry. 

For response of the booming development of the tourism industry, the college of Tourism has built up a core course of master program for response to the booming development of the tourism industry.   The college cooperates closely with the tourism industry and emphasizes cross-field integration.  All the full-time teachers of the college are responsible for the curriculum planning and allocated teaching resources. There are 23 full-time teachers all of them are above the assistant professor level, with highly teaching experience, research expertise and also in practical experience. The teaching objective of the college is to cultivate graduate students to have the four core abilities including "professional knowledge", "independent thinking", "independent research" and "problem solving", to cultivate master student employment ability for the tourism industry, and creating competitive advantages.  The college of tourism is mainly positioned at research in the practical topics of the tourism industry including catering, leisure, recreation, tourism, and exhibitions. It is hoping to provide research results with reference value for tourism industry in Taiwan.  Through the process of developing the graduate students can vigorous development of the tourism industry, for the industry, government and academia, also promote tourism of Taiwan.

Chung Hua University College of tourism is the only college that has been invited to join international organizations in Taiwan, including the Asia Pacific Travel Association (PATA) and the Asia Pacific Convention and Exhibition Association (APIEM).
